New LIFEBACK™ Spine Rehab Clinic Opens in Burnsville

MINNEAPOLIS, MN—April 19, 2006—Spinal Designs International, Inc. has licensed a third LIFEBACK™ Spine Rehab Clinic in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Located at 12940 Harriet Ave. South in Burnsville, the new clinic offers LIFEBACK Spine Programs for chronic back pain sufferers.

“Chronic back pain is a debilitating disease that affects the sufferer’s whole life, including their ability to work or function at home,” said Brad Wildberg, owner of the Burnsville LIFEBACK clinic. “That’s why we’re excited about bringing programs proven to help patients regain their quality of life to the south metro.”

LIFEBACK Spine Programs are designed to enable patients to recover from chronic non-surgical and post-operative back pain. The programs take a train vs. treat, whole-person approach that empowers patients to master their back pain, manage their own functional recovery, and make wise lifestyle choices thereafter that best ensure a healthy back for life.

LIFEBACK patients are monitored and coached for two years. More than 2,500 data points on each of thousands of patients have been collected over the past decade in a unique Outcomes Data System. Based on that data, 94% of patients are satisfied with their recovery, 86% stop or reduce doctor visits, 95% stop or reduce physical therapy visits, and 76% stop or reduce medication usage one year after completing a LIFEBACK program. Chronic back pain sufferers themselves can see how they will likely improve in a LIFEBACK program at www.LIFEBACK.com/proof.

“Health care organizations, insurance companies and employers are seeking proven solutions for chronic back pain patients as their numbers are increasing due to our aging population and sedentary lifestyles,” said Greg Peterson, CEO and President of Spinal Designs. “The Burnsville clinic comes right on the heels of HealthEast opening a LIFEBACK Spine Rehab Clinic at its >St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN, and brings the number of LIFEBACK clinics in Minnesota to six.”

The scientifically engineered LIFEBACK programs combine core strengthening and stabilization training, flexibility training, unloading therapies, and therapeutic activities that create and support lifestyle change. More than 400 insurance companies provide reimbursement for LIFEBACK programs.

Spinal Designs International licenses proprietary, evidence-based LIFEBACK Spine Programs to hospitals and provider clinics as services for their chronic spine patients. These programs treat spinal disease in its totality through patient-responsible disease management versus repeated clinician-provided treatments that focus on symptom management. The programs are available through LIFEBACK Spine Rehab Clinics in Minnesota and North Dakota. For more information on LIFEBACK programs, send email to info@spinaldesigns.com.
